We found this place looking on Yelp for a.Colby (I-70) lunch stop...NEVER would have just stumbled across it. It was a gem of a home-cooking style cafe!! Attentive service and such satisfying food! I had the mushroom Swiss burger. Cooked med-rare as requested and served on a special tasty bun (Hawaiian-roll type?). I was glad I went with onion rings (YUM!) instead of French fries for a 2 upcharge. Husband had the 1/2 order (60) chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & gravy and a homestyle dinner roll, with included iced tea. He loves his chicken fried steak and was very happy with this one. Prices were reasonable too. We were there about 1:00 on Saturday, and the tables were about 80% filled. Highly recommend!

Welcome Home Cafe lives up to it's name! Forget eating at the fast food restaurants that are around. Stop in for their Chicken Fried Sandwich with bread and butter pickles and fries. Be sure to save room for a warm, delicious chocolate chip cookie that you receive with your bill!

Excellent, happy service made for a great experience. Chicken bacon ranch sandwich was solid and finished with a lovely sweet treat. Fries hand cut and perfect.

Wife had the hamburger and I the chicken fried steak with white gravy, delicious food, the waitress was very attentive and friendly. Nice place to visit and eat. Extra bonus.... fresh baked cookies!!

We’ve driven by this restaurant for the past 11 years driving back and forth from Denver to KC and decided to pick up an order today. We ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich and the Sunday special of the day- meatloaf, corn, baked potato, dinner roll and German chocolate brownie and also a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious and tasted like the homemade meal we were wanting! The only issue was the plastic wear was left out of the bag. I’m not sure if we were supposed to request that and also butter and salt and pepper packs for the potato. It wasn’t an issue since we keep extra plastic wear in the car since we travel so often but it is something we should’ve checked before leaving the restaurant. We will stop here again during our travels and in my opinion is the best place to stop for food in Colby. We called ahead and they stayed true to their promised time of food being ready. 5/5!

Man, on a chilly, drizzly day, this menu hits the spot. Ordered roast beef sandwich plate. Couple pieces of bread, mashed potatoes in the center, all covered with the most tender roast beef, and savory brown gravy. This is the closest to Grandma's cooking I have ever purchased. Service was amazing. Nothing fancy, amazing food, clean, just the way we should be doing it like we used to. To top it off, the bill came, but was topped with a darn good, fresh hot chocolate chip cookie!

What a wonderful Cafe to stumble on. You really must give it a chance. I had hot roast beef sandwich and wife had swiss-mushroom burger with sweet potato fries. Both were made to order and delicious. Server was welcoming and friendly. Oh, the chocolate chip cookies for dessert were a fantastic and tasty surprise.

Felt like eating at grandma’s house. Our waitress, Linda made us feel right at home, with a friendly smile! The food was just as good! I ordered a double Bison burger with cheese (10/10) and my wife got the Swiss mushroom cheeseburger and it was amazing. Service was quick. Not a long wait even tho the place was nearly full. Great place to stop by for a home-cooked road trip meal!
